| Description |
English: Wilsons Lane in Marks Tey used to be a foot crossing, but H&S-crazed Network Rail wasted £2.5M on building a swanky footbridge instead. Of course the lights and buzzers of the foot crossing were still left in place and there is a Railtrack "Access Point" there too, but their big white elephant (or should that be Blue elephant?) does at least afford great views of the Great Eastern Mainline. Saturday 5th June saw the Midland route through Oakham closed for engineering with several freights diverted to run via the GEML instead. |
